This database contains 4,480 death notices found in eight newspapers published in Columbia County from 1837 to 1870, Berwick Investigator, Bloomsburg Democrat, Columbia Democrat, Columbia Democrat/Star of the North, Columbian, Columbian/Democrat, Democrat Investigator (Bloomsburg), and Star of the North (Bloomsburg).

If you want to view a death notice on microfilm, visit the Andruss Library on the campus of Bloomsburg University. If you can't visit, click on our "Research Request" tab on the left.  

There is a search fee to find an obituary notice for a specific person. In order to reduce the amount of time needed to search for each name, list the dates of the searches in chronological order according to the newspaper. Please use the example listed below in making your requests. Your cooperation will be very helpful and appreciated. Every effort will be made to send the paper copies of the searches you requested within two to three weeks.
