There are 13,182 entries with information that comes from four Columbia County newspapers: Benton Argus, Bloomsburg Columbia County Republican, Bloomsburg Columbian, and Bloomsburg Morning Press.

The following subjects are included in the database: death notices, citizens becoming naturalized, different kinds of criminal activity, significant events such as fires, family reunions, stories relating to animals, and portraitures (pictures of individuals who did something noteworthy, members of school boards, valedictorians, criminals, etc. who may or may not have died).

There are eight searchable categories in the database:

Name (last, first)

Maiden name

Survivor

Residence

Death age (Y-M-D)

Newspaper name

Date of notice in newspaper

Notes

For example, if you are looking a "specific person" who became a naturalized citizen, enter that name in the name category or if you are searching for names of different people who were naturalized, simply type in "naturalized" in the notes category. There are two ways to find articles about family reunions: enter name of the specific family, (Boston Family, for example), in the name category or enter "family reunion" in the notes category.

Listed below are the various dates for the different newspapers used; in a few cases there are some missing issues.
