DATABASE CONTAINING MARRIAGE NOTICES IN THE

BLOOMSBURG JOURNAL AND CATAWISSA NEWS ITEM

The Bloomsburg Journal started by G. A. Potter in 1876 was a weekly temperance newspaper consisting of four pages and later expanded to twelve pages in 1881. It ceased publication in 1887 in Bloomsburg and moved to Millville to become the Weekly Tablet.

To find a marriage announcement having the names of the groom and the bride, enter the name of either the groom or bride in the "search box." If that individual’s marriage announcement appeared in one of the newspapers, the following information may be available depending on what content was included:

Name of Groom: last, first, & middle
Groom Residence
Name of Bride: last, first, & middle
Groom Residence
