Search Instructions:

    1. Last Name First – Names are typically last name first and the search field is a "starts with" query.  Enter the first few letters of the last name that you are searching.  You should start with a narrow query and expand your search if you don't find your name.  This will save you reading time.  Let the computer do the work.  To search for a specific name, enter the last name followed by a comma and space then the first name.  For example, Wilson, Mary.
    2. Wild Card – The percent sign (%) means "everything that follows."  To narrow your search results enter more letters after the percent (%) sign.  For example, %Wag will search for all occurrences that start with “Wag” such as Wagner, Wagoner, Wagonseller, etc.
    3. First Name Search – Since names are entered last name first, to search for a first name, type the percent sign (%) before the first name.  For example, %Mary will search for all occurrences of Mary such as Wagner, Mary; Moyer, Maryann; Smith, Mary Alice; Zimmerman, Mary Ellen, etc.
    4. Place or Event – Type place or event.  Use wild card as necessary.
    5. Results – The output pages return 10 records per page.  Click the “next page” arrow at the bottom of each page to view subsequent pages.
