What's it about?

is about Pat Casserly and his family in 1875 Mahanoy City, PA.  It conveys a time of real turmoil in the heart of the hard coal region.  Molly Maguires and rival Welsh Modocs fight for control of the region and justice is one sided.  Fighting between rival volunteer fire companies, one Irish and one Welsh, helps to highlight the action as Pat and his son Bernie are caught between the opposing forces.

The historical timeline is accurate although the story is purely fiction.  Anyone interested in Molly Maguire history will not want to miss this book.  So join the Mollies and the Modocs as they continue their conflict.  Order today!

Reviews

Eric McKeever, Publisher, The Anthracite History Journal says:

"The book deals with the mundane daily round of activities in the Casserly household in a time of profound social change and conflict. Skillfully interwoven through all of this is the rivalries and antagonisms of the various immigrant groups brought to the coal regions to work in the mines."  and  "This book is a worthy addition to coal region literature." Bernie Coleman, Historian & Genealogist, Tamaqua, PA says:

It was a good and interesting piece of literature...  I really enjoyed it.

Tommy Symons, The Orange and Green Show

Really loved reading about the early days in Mahanoy City. The rivalry among the fire companies is almost lost history...  I highly recommend this book!!
