Program

Making History: The Bicentennial History of Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg’s Bicentennial in 2002 will see the first-ever history of “The only town in Pennsylvania .”  Editor of the volume, W. M. ‘Bill’ Baillie, will describe the process of creating Discovering Bloomsburg:  A Bicentennial History and will reveal some of the significant “discoveries” by authors of the book’s twenty-five chapters.  Richly illustrated with photos from Bloomsburg’s colorful past, the program will show history in the making and give a ‘sneak preview’ just before the book’s publication date in early summer.

The Ridge Street United Methodist church, red brick building, can easily be reached from Bloomsburg by going east either on U.S. Route 11 or the Old Berwick Road to turn on Ridge Street which intersects with both routes. It is located approximately 3.3 miles east from the corner of East Street and U.S. Route 11 in Bloomsburg.
