The Society’s annual dinner and membership meeting will be held at Ridge Street United Methodist Church, Almedia, starting at six o’clock. The ladies of the church will prepare the dinner, served family style. Dinner reservations, $15.00 per person, are required. Please use the form below to make your reservations.

The Society’s Board of Directors decided to arrange a unique program this year from what has traditionally been presented in the past. Erica and Kent Courtney, professional musicians from York, Pennsylvania, will give a "Living History Music" program that will incorporate various aspects of our local history. You will surely enjoy this program that will be entertaining and informative.

The Courtneys are actors who use music as a tool of communicating information about historical subjects. Both have great experience in performing and giving entertaining presentations not only in Pennsylvania but also in other parts of the country. Erica not only has a beautiful voice; she plays mandolin and recorder. Kent’s voice blends wonderfully with Erica’s. He plays an incredible variety of instruments, including guitar, button-box accordion, banjo, harmonicas, recorders, tin whistle, and percussion. More than just performing the music, Erica and Kent Courtney tell the histories of the melodies and the songs.

You have probably notice the reservations are a few dollars more than in previous years. The increased cost is necessary to defray the expense of having a professional program.

The Ridge Street United Methodist church, red brick building, can easily be reached from Bloomsburg by going east either on U.S. Route 11 or the Old Berwick Road to turn on Ridge Street which intersects with both routes. It is located approximately 3.3 miles east from the corner of East Street and U.S. Route 11 in Bloomsburg.
